AN ACT MAKING AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION OF THE WORKING CASH-STABILIZATION RESERVE FUND TO DEFRAY THE EXPENSES OF THE STATE VETERANS AFFAIRS BOARD FOR FISCAL YEAR 2006.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1.  In addition to all other sums heretofore appropriated, the following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in the Working Cash-Stabilization Reserve Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Veterans Affairs Board for the purpose of replacing lost income due to the temporary closing of the Collins State Veterans Home and funding uninsured expenses related to the extensive damage caused by Hurricane Katrina, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2006......................................... $      700,000.00.

     SECTION 2.  As a condition of receiving the money appropriated by Section 1 of this act, the Veterans Affairs Board shall pay into the State General Fund any funds that the board receives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) or any other federal agency as reimbursement for any of the purposes described in Section 1 of this act.

     SECTION 3.  The money herein appropriated shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the proper fund or funds as set forth in this act, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law.

     SECTION 4.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
