AN ACT MAKING AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION TO THE LOCAL DISASTER EMERGENCY GRANT AND LOAN FUND FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING REMAINING OBLIGATIONS DUE THE FUND FROM PRIOR FISCAL YEARS, FOR FISCAL YEAR 2006.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  In addition to all other sums heretofore appropriated, the following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in the State General Fund, not otherwise appropriated, to the Local Disaster Emergency Grant and Loan Fund 3144, for the purpose of paying any and all remaining obligations due the fund from prior fiscal

years, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2006$350,000.00.

     SECTION 2.  This appropriation is made for the purpose of paying all remaining obligations of any city, county or other entity that may be due the Local Disaster Emergency Grant and Loan Fund resulting from loans made in previous fiscal years to assist cities, counties or other entities in recovery efforts from disasters.  The funds appropriated in this act shall be considered full and complete payment of all obligations that may be considered due the Local Disaster Emergency Grant and Loan Fund.

     SECTION 3.  It is the intention of the Legislature that prior to July 1, 2006, the Department of Finance and Administration shall transfer any remaining balance in the Local Disaster Emergency Grant and Loan Fund to the State General Fund.

     SECTION 4.  The money herein appropriated shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the proper fund or funds as set forth in this act, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers, in the manner provided by law.

     SECTION 5.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
