Senate Bill 2378

AN ACT MAKING AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION OF STATE GENERAL FUNDS TO DEFRAY THE EXPENSES OF THE STATE VETERANS AFFAIRS BOARD FOR PRIOR FISCAL YEARS AND FISCAL YEAR 2006.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. In addition to all other sums heretofore appropriated, the following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, for the purpose of replacing lost income due to the temporary closing of the Collins State Veterans Home and funding uninsured expenses related to the extensive damage caused by Hurricane Katrina, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2006........................... $ 700,000.00.

SECTION 2. The money herein appropriated shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the proper fund or funds as set forth in this act, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
