AN ACT TO REPEAL SECTION 45-1-9, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH PROVIDES THAT EACH HIGHWAY PATROLMAN AND CERTAIN OTHER APPOINTEES SHALL FURNISH A SURETY BOND OF NOT LESS THAN $2,000.00 PAYABLE TO THE STATE AND CONDITIONED UPON THE FAITHFUL PERFORMANCE OF DUTIES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Section 45-1-9, Mississippi Code of 1972, which provides that each highway patrolman and certain other appointees shall furnish a surety bond of not less than Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00) payable to the state and conditioned upon the faithful performance of duties, is hereby repealed.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
