House Resolution 113

 A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING LIEUTENANT TERENCE C. SARGENT UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT AFTER TWENTY-FIVE YEARS OF OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO THE WAYNESBORO POLICE DEPARTMENT.

     WHEREAS, Lieutenant Terence C. Sargent has announced his pending retirement from the Waynesboro Police Department after 25 years of dedicated service; and

     WHEREAS, Lieutenant Terence Sargent is a 1984 graduate of the Laurel Law Enforcement Training Academy, the Traveling Criminal Apprehension Program and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) SWAT School in Tuscaloosa, Alabama; and

     WHEREAS, as evidence of his commitment to law enforcement, Lieutenant Sargent is the 2006 Sergeant of Guard for the Waynesboro Fraternal Order of Police for Waynesboro Lodge No. 7 and has held that position since 1994; and

     WHEREAS, the lieutenant's dedication to the public extends beyond the police department into summer programs in the City of Waynesboro where he has coached youth baseball and basketball over the years; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize the public service of outstanding individuals such as Lieutenant Terence C. Sargent whose dedication and commitment have brought honor to himself, the Waynesboro Police Department, the City of Waynesboro and the State of Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Lieutenant Terence C. Sargent upon the occasion of his retirement after 25 years of outstanding service to the Waynesboro Police Department.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Lieutenant Terence Sargent, the Waynesboro Police Department and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
