A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MR. LOWELL HINTON UPON BEING NAMED THE OUTSTANDING COMMISSIONER OF THE YEAR BY THE MISSISSIPPI ASSOCIATION OF CONSERVATION DISTRICTS.

     WHEREAS, Mr. Lowell Hinton, Chairman of the Alcorn County Soil and Water Conservation District, was presented the Outstanding Commissioner of the Year Award at a recent meeting of the Mississippi Association of Conservation Districts; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Hinton, who is an active supporter of soil and water conservation and is employed with the Mississippi State Extension Service Office in Corinth, Mississippi, has been a commissioner with the Mississippi Association of Conservation Districts for over 23 years and has served as its chairman for 16 years; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Hinton's dedication and commitment to soil and water conservation led to his selection as North Area winner in July 2005 and permitted him to successfully compete with other area winners in the state to capture the award as Outstanding Commissioner of the Year; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend the exemplary accomplishments of such outstanding Mississippians as Mr. Hinton who, through their dedication and tireless devotion, contribute immeasurably to the well-being of the citizens of their community and the entire state:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Mr. Lowell Hinton upon being named the Outstanding Commissioner of the Year by the Mississippi Association of Conservation Districts, and express sincere appreciation and gratitude for his dedicated service and extraordinary accomplishments.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Hinton and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
