House Resolution 54

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING COLEY LITTLE BAILEY, JR., AND JODY BAILEY FOR THEIR SELECTION AS NATIONAL OUTSTANDING YOUNG FARMERS IN 2006 AND FOR THEIR NUMEROUS OTHER ACHIEVEMENTS IN AGRICULTURE.

     WHEREAS, Coley Little Bailey, Jr., and Jody Bailey of Coffeeville, Mississippi, have been named National Outstanding Young Farmers by the United States Jaycees at the 50th Outstanding Young Farmers Awards Congress held in February 2006; and

     WHEREAS, the Baileys, who farm 2,300 acres of cotton in the hills of Yalobusha County, have been active for years in agricultural organizations such as the Yalobusha County Farm Bureau and the Mississippi Farm Bureau, and have served on numerous national, state, district and county agriculture committees; and

     WHEREAS, they have previously been recognized for their outstanding abilities and leadership in farming, including being named as winner of the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation's Young Farmer and Rancher Achievement Award for 2001; and

     WHEREAS, in addition to managing their farming operation, the Baileys are active members of the Coffeeville United Methodist Church and are involved in numerous civic, community and school activities, and they have two children, McKenzie and Cole; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend noteworthy achievement by outstanding Mississippians, such as Coley Little and Jody Bailey:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Coley Little Bailey, Jr., and Jody Bailey for their selection as National Outstanding Young Farmers in 2006 and for their numerous other achievements in agriculture, and we extend heartiest wishes for success in all their future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Coley Little Bailey, Jr., and Jody Bailey and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
