A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING JOHN AND JULIE INGRAM ON THEIR WINNING THE 2005 YOUNG FARMER AND RANCHER ACHIEVEMENT AWARD.

     WHEREAS, John and Julie Ingram of Water Valley, Mississippi, won the prestigious and esteemed 2005 Young Farmer and Rancher Achievement Award; and

     WHEREAS, the Young Farmer and Rancher Achievement Award is presented each year to recognize Mississippi's young farmers for high achievement in agricultural production, management and leadership; and

     WHEREAS, the Ingrams successfully operate a diversified row crop operation that includes corn, cotton, oats and soybeans, and they have a purebred Angus cattle operation that supplies seed stock for other cattle operations all across the mid-south; and

     WHEREAS, not only do the Ingrams supply seed stock from their cattle operation, they are also outstanding beef producers with one of the top registered Black Angus herds in the south; and

     WHEREAS, John Ingram, who has a bachelor of science degree in agriculture business from Mississippi State University, has served in various positions in agriculture related organizations which include:  Vice Chairman of the Farm Bureau Beef Commodity Committee, Chairman of Yalobusha County Farm Bureau Young Farmers and has served on numerous Mississippi State University Extension and 4-H committees; and

     WHEREAS, not only active in the agriculture-related committees on the county, district and state levels, the Ingrams are also active members of Water Valley First Baptist Church, and they have served as park and recreational little league coaches where they were inspirational role models to the children they coached; and

     WHEREAS, Julie Ingram, who is a registered nurse, and John Ingram have two lovely children, Ross and Juliana, who are learning from their parents the importance of a good work ethic and how to produce an excellent agricultural product; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and pay special tribute to an outstanding young farming and ranching couple, such as John and Julie Ingram, who have exhibited outstanding agricultural production, management and leadership skills:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate John and Julie Ingram on winning the prestigious 2005 Young Farmer and Rancher Achievement Award and extend best wishes for success in all their future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to John and Julie Ingram, Mississippi Farm Bureau and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
