A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE LIFE AND SERVICE OF DAVID "DAVE" DEARMAN AND EXPRESSING DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS UPON HIS PASSING.

     WHEREAS, David "Dave" Dearman of State Line departed this life on February 13, 2006, at the age of 53; and

     WHEREAS, David Dearman, a native of Lucedale, spent the last 30 years as an educator in Greene County and was considered a cornerstone of the local school district; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. Dearman began his career as an educator in Greene County in 1976 in his first position as a speech pathologist but quickly ascended into an administrator's position at the district office; and

     WHEREAS, he served as Principal at Sand Hill School and twice at State Line School before leading the efforts at Greene County High School for 15 years; and

     WHEREAS, David Dearman is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Dearman, of State Line; his mother, Irene Virginia Dearman, of Lucedale; and two sisters, Kathy West and Ilene Washam, both of Lucedale; and

     WHEREAS, the education community of Greene County and the State of Mississippi will miss his guiding hand in educating the children of Greene County; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to commend the life and service of a dedicated educator such as David Dearman:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend the life and legacy of David "Dave" Dearman and express deepest sympathy to his family and friends upon his passing.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to the family of David Dearman and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
