AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY FOR THE PURPOSE OF CORRECTING AN ADMINISTRATIVE ERROR REGARDING PAYMENT OF THE SALARY OF A DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEE.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1.  The following sum, or so much of it as may be necessary, is appropriated out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Department of Public Safety for the purpose of correcting an administrative error regarding payment of the salary of a department employee, as provided in Section 2, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2006, and ending June 30, 2007$1,657.41.

     SECTION 2.  The money appropriated by Section 1 shall be used by the department to pay to Mr. Jesse Coke the sum of Six Hundred Three Dollars and Twenty-four Cents ($603.24) for a salary adjustment and the increase in the annual leave payment, and to pay to the Public Employees' Retirement System the sum of One Thousand Fifty-four Dollars and Seventeen Cents ($1,054.17) for the necessary employer contributions and interest on employer and employee contributions on behalf of Mr. Coke.

     SECTION 3.  The money appropriated by this act shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law.

     SECTION 4.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2006.
