AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CHICKASAWHAY NATURAL GAS DISTRICT TO EXPAND ITS SERVICES AND TRANSMISSION LINES BEYOND ITS SERVICE AREA FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING, SUPPLYING AND PROVIDING NATURAL GAS TO BUSINESSES AND INDUSTRIES LOCATED IN A CERTAIN INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  The Board of Directors of the Chickasawhay Natural Gas District, in its discretion, and upon resolution duly adopted and entered upon its minutes, may expand its services and transmission lines for the purpose of selling, supplying and providing natural gas to any business or industry located in an industrial area known as the Old Burlington Cotton Mill Complex within Stonewall, Mississippi.

     (2)  The provisions of subsection (1) of this section shall be deemed to be the full and complete authority for exercise of the powers granted under this act, and such authority shall not be subject to the provisions of Section 77-3-1 et seq., Mississippi Code of 1972, nor to approval of the Public Service Commission.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
