AN ACT TO REQUIRE APPOINTED ATTORNEYS REPRESENTING JUVENILES IN YOUTH COURT TO ANNUALLY OBTAIN CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION RELATED TO YOUTH COURT PRACTICE; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Any attorney who is appointed as a public defender to represent juveniles in youth court shall annually obtain a minimum of seven (7) continuing legal education hours on youth court practice and procedures as determined, approved and regulated by The Mississippi Bar. 

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2006.
