AN ACT TO NAME THE MUSEUM OF MISSISSIPPI HISTORY, TO BE LOCATED IN JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI, UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF THE MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF ARCHIVES AND HISTORY, THE DR. ELBERT R. HILLIARD MUSEUM OF MISSISSIPPI HISTORY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The Museum of Mississippi History, that is currently in stages of construction at its location in Jackson, Mississippi, and which shall be under the jurisdiction of the Mississippi Department of Archives and History, shall be named the Dr. Elbert R. Hilliard Museum of Mississippi History.  The Mississippi Department of Archives and History shall prepare or have prepared a distinctive plaque, to be placed in a prominent place within the Dr. Elbert R. Hilliard Museum of Mississippi History, that states the background, accomplishments and service of Dr. Elbert R. Hilliard to the State of Mississippi.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
