TO THE MISSISSIPPI STATE SENATE:

GOVERNOR'S VETO MESSAGE FOR SENATE BILL 2586

I am returning Senate Bill 2586: "AN ACT TO AMEND SECTIONS 25-3-93 AND 25-3-95, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO DELETE THE REPEALER ON THE SECTIONS OF LAW WHICH REGULATE THE DONATION OF PERSONAL LEAVE BY PUBLIC OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES" without my approval, and assign the following reasons for my veto.

After full consideration, I am vetoing Senate Bill 2586. The provisions of Senate Bill 2586 are included in House Bill 211, which also makes necessary changes to Miss. Code Ann. 25-9-109, as it relates to the qualifications of appointees to the State Personnel Board. Therefore, I will sign House Bill 211.

For these reasons, I urge the members to sustain the veto and reject Senate Bill 2586.
