Senate Resolution 4

A RESOLUTION COMMEMORATING THE CECIL VAUGHAN/HERMAN ROBINSON MEMORIAL CLASSIC AT NEW HOPE HIGH SCHOOL.

WHEREAS, New Hope High School sponsors the Cecil Vaughan/Herman Robinson Memorial Classic which will conclude on Saturday, January 15, 2005; and

WHEREAS, New Hope High School sponsors the classic in honor of Cecil Vaughan and Herman Robinson; and

WHEREAS, Cecil Vaughn served many years as principal and Herman Robinson served many years as coach at New Hope High School; and

WHEREAS, the classic named in honor of these two men is in recognition of their many years of dedicated service to the students, their parents and the community; and

WHEREAS, the character, integrity and leadership by example of these two educators has influenced the lives of thousands of students, who have become leaders in their communities; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the Senate of the State of Mississippi to recognize Mississippians who have devoted their lives and service to the children of Mississippi:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commemorate the Cecil Vaughan/Herman Robinson Memorial Classic at New Hope High School in recognition of the dedicated service of Cecil Vaughan and Herman Robinson.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be presented to New Hope High School.
