AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF PEARL RIVER COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO ESTABLISH ADDITIONAL COURTROOM FACILITIES FOR CRIMINAL PROCEEDINGS THAT DO NOT INVOLVE JURIES AT THE PEARL RIVER COUNTY JUSTICE CENTER AT MILLARD, MISSISSIPPI; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The Board of Supervisors of Pearl River County, Mississippi, is authorized to establish additional courtroom facilities for criminal proceedings that do not involve juries and to permit the holding of court for such proceedings at the facility in the same manner as court is held for such proceedings at the county seat in Poplarville, Mississippi.  The courtroom facilities shall be established in the county-owned building known as the Pearl River County Justice Center at Millard, Mississippi.  The judges shall determine whether they will hold court at the facility.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
