AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY OF LONG BEACH, MISSISSIPPI, TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE HUMANE SOCIETY OF SOUTH MISSISSIPPI FOR THE ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY AND CONSTRUCTION OF A FACILITY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The governing authorities of the City of Long Beach, Mississippi, are authorized and empowered to contribute from any available funds, not more than Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00) annually during calendar years 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009, to the Humane Society of South Mississippi (HSSM) for land acquisition and the construction of a facility to house and care for stray animals and for related functions and services of HSSM.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
