AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION OF GENERAL FUNDS TO THE JACKSON MEDICAL MALL FOUNDATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF COMPLETING THE MASTER PLAN FOR THE JACKSON MEDICAL MALL DISTRICT, FOR FISCAL YEAR 2006.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1.  In addition to all other sums heretofore appropriated, the following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Jackson Medical Mall Foundation to complete the development of a Master Plan for the Jackson Medical Mall District, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2006. $250,000.00.

     SECTION 2.  It is the intention of the Legislature that the funds provided in Section 1 of this act be expended by the Jackson Medical Mall Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, to develop and implement a program to provide health care for the underserved and to promote economic, commercial and community development in the Jackson Mall District, which is an approximate thirteen-square-mile area surrounding the Jackson Mall which has been designated by the City of Jackson as the Jackson Medical Mall District.

     SECTION 3.  The money herein appropriated shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the proper fund or funds as set forth in this act, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers, in the manner provided by law.

     SECTION 4.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2005.
