AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT PERSONNEL ACTIONS OF THE FORESTRY COMMISSION SHALL BE EXEMPT FROM STATE PERSONNEL BOARD RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR A CERTAIN PERIOD OF TIME; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  From July 1, 2005 until July 1, 2006, the personnel actions of the Forestry Commission shall be exempt from State Personnel Board rules, regulations and procedures in order to give the commission flexibility in making an orderly, effective and timely restructuring of the commission.

     (2)  From July 1, 2006, until July 1, 2007, the personnel actions of the Forestry Commission shall be exempt from State Personnel Board rules, regulations and procedures in order to give the commission flexibility in making an orderly, effective and timely restructuring of the commission.  This subsection shall repeal on June 30, 2006.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
