House Resolution 104

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE LANCASTER TRAINING CENTER PEE WEE CHEER FORCE ON WINNING THE 2004-2005 UCA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

     WHEREAS, the Lancaster Training Center Pee Wee Cheer Force finished the 2004-2005 season of cheerleading competition with an outstanding record of accomplishments; and

     WHEREAS, the Lancaster Training Center Pee Wee Cheer Force performed very well in competition this year, winning the UCA Mid-South Regional Championship, UCA North Mississippi Regional Championship, Deep South Cheer Grand Championship, WSA Grand Championship and the coveted UCA National Championship; and

     WHEREAS, comprised of girls in fourth grade and below from Prentiss, Alcorn and Tippah Counties, members of Lancaster Training Center Pee Wee Cheer Force include Kaila Mason, Jennie Carol Maddox, Abbey England, Haleigh Tennison, Lindie Hill, Chelsea Caveness, Alison Green, Olivia Griffin, Haley Johnson, Laney Kemp, Journey McAlister, Maggie Murphy, Kayla Parker, Brittany Stansell, Kameron Jade Talley and Mary Margaret Whitehead; and

     WHEREAS, the Lancaster Training Center Pee Wee Cheer Force has been superbly coached and inspired by Coaches Tim Lancaster and Stephanie Long, who have broadened the Pee Wee Cheer Force's knowledge of the cheerleading competition and refined their skills in execution; and

     WHEREAS, the Lancaster Training Center Pee Wee Cheer Force spends numerous hours per week practicing elite stunts, dance routines and cheers in addition to cheering at sporting events; and

     WHEREAS, the Lancaster Training Center Pee Wee Cheer Force has developed a winning and cooperative spirit and a high degree of sportsmanship, and their activities and attitudes reflect great credit upon the individual Pee Wee Cheer Force and their coaches and bring great honor to Lancaster Training Center; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by the young people of our state, who are its future:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Lancaster Training Center Pee Wee Cheer Force and their coaches for being selected the 2004-2005 UCA National Cheerleading Champions.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Lancaster Training Center, Coaches Tim Lancaster and Stephanie Long and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
