House Resolution 100

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING COACH RICHARD DUEASE FOR HIS CAREER ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND UPON HIS SELECTION AS THE MADISON COUNTY HERALD'S BOYS COACH OF THE YEAR.

     WHEREAS, Coach Richard Duease, Head Coach of Madison Ridgeland Academy (MRA) Patriots Boys Basketball Team, has compiled an impressive career record since beginning his coaching career at MRA and was recently named The Madison County Herald's Boys Coach of the Year; and

     WHEREAS, with a season record of 36-6, Coach Duease's most recent string of victories came after he coached the 2004-2005 Patriots team to win the Academy AAA Division II, Academy AAA and Overall State Championships; and

     WHEREAS, Coach Duease's pursuit of excellence motivated the Patriots to play harder and inspired them to win, but even more, to strive for the team's ultimate goal, which was the Mississippi Private School Association Overall State Championship and national recognition as evidenced by the team's appearance at the Wild West Shootout in Reno, Nevada; and

     WHEREAS, through his 30 years of coaching and conditioning, Coach Duease has superbly coached and inspired all of his players, and has broadened their knowledge of the game and refined their skills in execution; and

     WHEREAS, Coach Duease's exhibition of superior coaching technique has proven successful as evidenced by the many accomplishments he has achieved in his career; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend excellence in the accomplishments of such an outstanding Mississippian as Coach Duease, whose rise to the top is continually in the making:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Coach Richard Duease for his many accomplishments as Coach of the Madison Ridgeland Academy Patriots Boys Basketball Team upon being named The Madison County Herald's Boys Coach of the Year and extend our best wishes for continued success in all of his future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Coach Richard Duease, Madison Ridgeland Academy and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
