House Resolution 72

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE RETIREES OF MISSISSIPPI VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY FOR THEIR YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE.

     WHEREAS, several employees of Mississippi Valley State University will retire in 2005 after giving many years of their time and service to the students of the university:  W.C. Carter, Elmo Proctor, Gwendolyn Ailes and Alice Osborne; and

     WHEREAS, these retirees of Mississippi Valley State University are responsible for preparing and grooming an entire generation of future doctors, lawyers, nurses, politicians, teachers, leaders and other role models to face the challenges and victories that the future holds in store for our great nation; and

     WHEREAS, the entire citizenry of the State of Mississippi owes an immeasurable debt to these retirees of Mississippi Valley State University for passing the torch of knowledge to future leaders who will then, in turn, enrich the minds of the next generation of leaders; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to commend excellence, especially when evidenced by people who have dedicated so many years of their lives to developing and cultivating the minds and spirits of the many students with whom they have come in contact during their illustrious careers:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby recognize, commend and congratulate all employees of Mississippi Valley State University who will retire in 2005.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to W.C. Carter, Elmo Proctor, Gwendolyn Ailes, Alice Osborne and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
