A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MRS. ELLEN BROWN BRISTER ON THE OCCASION OF HER 100TH BIRTHDAY.

WHEREAS, Mrs. Ellen Brown Brister, born March 6, 1905, in Liberty, Amite County, Mississippi, recently celebrated her 100th birthday; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Brister, who still lives at home in Liberty, Mississippi, will celebrate the 100th birthday of her childhood friend, Edrie Jones Stokes Dove, on March 24, 2005; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Brister, a pillar in the Liberty community, as well as the backbone of her family, attributes her longevity to her faith in God, and enjoys the love, adoration and support of her family and friends; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend such outstanding individuals as Mrs. Brister, whose life has served as a beacon of hope, joy, inspiration and warmth to all who have enjoyed the privilege of meeting her:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Mrs. Ellen Brown Brister on the occasion of her 100th birthday.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mrs. Brister and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
