House Resolution 28

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE FAMILY MEMBERS OF SOLDIERS AND FAMILY SUPPORT GROUP OF THE 850TH TRANSPORTATION COMPANY IN RECOGNITION OF THEIR SUPPORT OF THE UNITED STATES ARMY, THE UNIT AND THEIR SOLDIER FAMILY MEMBER.

     WHEREAS, the House of Representatives of the State of Mississippi wishes to acknowledge the family members and the Family Support Group of the 850th Transportation Company Army Reserve Unit; and

     WHEREAS, today's military family faces a lifestyle that is comprised of frequent deployments, which results in increased family separations that often proves to be a stressful challenge for military families; and

     WHEREAS, these family members of soldiers of the 850th have not only been supportive of this reserve unit, but of the United States Armed Forces in totality and their soldier family member, recognizing their great sacrifices, hardships, missed anniversaries, birthdays and other significant events as we fight for freedom in the world; and

     WHEREAS, realizing at times each individual soldier experiences moments of stress and worry while they are away from their loved ones, the special communications from a loved one is most appreciated, lifting his or her morale in order to face the hardships of another day away from home; and

     WHEREAS, the United States Military Reservists have embarked upon both missions to secure and preserve peace and to protect the lives and interests of all Americans, thus exhibiting the high caliber and readiness of our nation's and state's troops; and

     WHEREAS, although the daily lives of these soldiers were filled with anxiety, the families left behind, who experienced the same stress as well as an increased workload, remained steadfast in encouraging, inspiring and supporting the soldiers of the 850th; and

     WHEREAS, since September 11, 2001, soldiers from across the nation have been called to active service in defense of our nation's freedom, and a renewed commitment to establish a free and self-sustaining democratic government out of the tumultuous ruins of tyranny and terror; and

     WHEREAS, the Mississippi House of Representatives finds it most appropriate to recognize and commend the diligence and patience of the families of the soldiers of the 850th Transportation Company for their devotion to supporting the mission of this state's and nation's military forces as they endeavor selflessly to secure and insure peace and to preserve and protect freedom for all:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend the families and Family Support Group of the 850th Transportation Company in recognition of their support to the United States Army, the unit and their soldier family member.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to the Family Support Group of the 850th Transportation Company and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
