AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF MONROE COUNTY, THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY OF AMORY AND THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY OF ABERDEEN TO CONSTRUCT A BUILDING AT THE MONROE COUNTY AIRPORT IN MONROE COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, AND TO LEASE THE BUILDING TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY, FREE OF CHARGE, FOR UTILIZATION AS A FACILITY FOR ISSUING COMMERCIAL AND REGULAR DRIVERS' LICENSES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1. (1)  The Board of Supervisors of Monroe County, Mississippi, the governing authorities of the City of Amory and the governing authorities of the City of Aberdeen may construct a building at the Monroe County Airport in Monroe County, Mississippi, for the purpose of leasing the building to the Department of Public Safety, free of charge, for utilization as a facility for issuing commercial and regular drivers' licenses, provided that the Department of Public Safety is authorized by law to enter into such a lease.

     (2)  The Board of Supervisors of Monroe County, Mississippi, the governing authorities of the City of Amory and the governing authorities of the City of Aberdeen shall provide the property for the construction of this facility.

     (3)  The cost of the facility shall not exceed One Hundred Thirty Thousand Dollars ($130,000.00).  The Board of Supervisors of Monroe County, Mississippi, shall pay, from any funds available to the county, fifty percent (50%) of the cost of the construction of the facility; the governing authorities of the City of Amory shall pay, from any funds available to the city, twenty-five percent (25%) of the cost of the construction of the facility; and the governing authorities of the City of Aberdeen shall pay, from any funds available to the city, twenty-five percent (25%) of the cost of the construction of the facility.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
