AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF MONROE COUNTY TO CONTRIBUTE FUNDS, IN AMOUNTS NOT EXCEEDING $5,000.00 ANNUALLY, TO THE MONROE COUNTY SHRINE CLUB FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING THE COSTS OF TRANSPORTING BURN VICTIMS TRAVELING TO OR FROM THE SHRINERS HOSPITAL IN SHREVEPORT, LOUISIANA, AND THE SHRINERS BURN CENTER IN GALVESTON, TEXAS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  The Board of Supervisors of Monroe County, Mississippi, in its discretion, may contribute funds, out of any available funds of the county, in amounts not exceeding Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) annually, to the Monroe County Shrine Club for the purpose of paying the costs of transporting burn victims traveling to or from the Shriners Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana, and the Shriners Burn Center in Galveston, Texas, which costs the burn victims and their families and the club do not have sufficient resources to pay.

     (2)  This section shall stand repealed from and after December 31, 2007.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
