AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO CONTRIBUTE FUNDS TO SOUP KITCHENS SERVICING THE COUNTY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  The Board of Supervisors of Jackson County, Mississippi, in its discretion, may contribute funds, in an amount not to exceed Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000.00) annually, to any soup kitchen within Jackson County that provides free meals to the needy.

     (2)  The provisions of this section shall be repealed on December 31, 2007.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
