(COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE)

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF MONROE COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO CONTRIBUTE FUNDS ANNUALLY TO THE MONROE COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  The Board of Supervisors of Monroe County, Mississippi, in its discretion, may contribute funds in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000.00) annually, out of any available funds of the county, to the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce and/or its successors.

     (2)  The provisions of this section shall be repealed on December 31, 2007.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
