AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY OF HATTIESBURG TO CONTRIBUTE FUNDS TO THE HATTIESBURG DOWNTOWN ASSOCIATION, INCORPORATED; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The governing authorities of the City of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, in their discretion, may contribute up to Twenty-four Thousand Dollars ($24,000.00) during the calendar year 2005, from any available funds of the city, such sums as it deems appropriate to the Hattiesburg Downtown Association, Incorporated, to fund the activities, efforts and initiatives in support of its mission.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
