AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT A MATRICULAR CONSULAR CARD SHALL NOT BE ACCEPTED AS PROOF OF IDENTIFICATION OR QUALIFICATION FOR STATE BENEFITS OR PRIVILEGES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  A matricular consular card shall not be accepted as proof of identification or qualification for a driver's license application and issuance, an identification card application or issuance, or the application or receipt of any benefit or privilege offered by any program of the state or any political subdivision thereof.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2005.
