AN ACT TO REQUIRE THAT IN SCHOOLS WITH VENDING MACHINES, ONLY WATER, NATURAL JUICES, FRUIT AND NONPROCESSED SNACKS MAY BE SOLD IN THOSE MACHINES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. In all schools of this state that have vending machines only water, natural juices, fruit and nonprocessed snacks may be sold in those machines. However, vending machines located in faculty or teachers lounges or located where only adults have access to the machines are exempt from the requirements of this section.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2005.
