AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 69-5-101, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO REVISE AND EXPAND THE MISSISSIPPI LIVESTOCK SHOW FROM THREE TO SEVEN DIRECTORS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Section 69-5-101, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:

     69-5-101.  In order to encourage and promote the raising of livestock and dairy stock in the state, there is hereby created a body politic and corporate to be hereafter known as "Mississippi Livestock Show" which said body politic and corporate shall be under the management and control of the Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce, director of extension service, and five (5) elected individuals, who shall represent each of the five (5) livestock show districts listed in Section 69-5-103 and who shall be elected by the producers and exhibitors in each of those five (5) livestock show districts, hereinafter designated as directors, who shall serve without compensation.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2005.
