House Bill 523

AN ACT TO DESIGNATE CERTAIN PORTIONS OF MISSISSIPPI HIGHWAY 43 LOCATED IN RANKIN AND LEAKE COUNTIES AS THE "JOE A. WAGGONER MEMORIAL HIGHWAY"; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  That portion of Mississippi Highway 43 located in Leake County beginning at or near the town of Sandhill,  and extending northwesterly to the Rankin/Madison county line, and that portion of Mississippi Highway 43 beginning at the Leake/Madison county line and extending northeasterly to the Leake/Attala county line, are designated and shall be known as the "Joe A. Waggoner Memorial Highway."

     (2)  The Mississippi Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain appropriate markers along and approaching the segments of highway described in subsection (1) of this section.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
