House Bill 141

AN ACT TO PROHIBIT THE USE OF GENETIC TESTING FOR DISCRIMINATORY PURPOSES BY EMPLOYERS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  It shall be unlawful for any employer to use genetic testing for discriminatory purposes.  Any employer who violates this section shall, upon conviction, be fined up to Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) or imprisoned for not more than one (1) year, or both.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2005.
