AN ACT TO REPEAL SECTION 57-64-33, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH PROVIDES THAT A BUSINESS ENTERPRISE OPERATING CERTAIN PROJECTS IN A COUNTY THAT IS A MEMBER OF A REGIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ALLIANCE, SHALL BE EXEMPT FROM ALL LOCAL TAXES LEVIED BY THE COUNTY AND ALL STATE TAXES FOR A PERIOD OF TEN YEARS OR UNTIL DECEMBER 31, 2015, WHICHEVER OCCURS FIRST; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Section 57-64-33, Mississippi Code of 1972, which provides that a business enterprise operating certain projects in a county that is a member of a regional economic development alliance, shall be exempt from all local taxes levied by the county and all state taxes for a period of ten (10) years or until December 31, 2015, whichever occurs first, is repealed.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
