AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION AND THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION TO GRANT A SURFACE EASEMENT OF PROPERTY ON THE CAMPUS OF THE MISSISSIPPI SCHOOL FOR THE BLIND AND DEAF TO GULF SOUTH PIPELINE COMPANY, L.P.; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The State Board of Education, with the approval and assistance of the Department of Finance and Administration, is hereby authorized to follow all applicable laws and regulations to convey a surface easement in the following described property to Gulf South Pipeline Company, L.P., for a term not to exceed five (5) years, to wit:

     A certain tract of land containing 0.05 acres, more

     or less, being situated in the Northeast Quarter of

     the Northwest Quarter of Section 25, Township 6

     North, Range 1 East, Hinds County, Mississippi, and

     being more particularly described as follows:

     COMMENCING at the Southwest corner of the Northwest

     Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 25,

     Township 6 North, Range 1 East, Hinds County,

     Mississippi; run thence Easterly along a fence

     marking the South line of the Northwest Quarter

     of the Northwest Quarter and the Northeast Quarter

     of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 25 for

     1913.2 feet to a point, said point hereinafter

     referred to as the point of beginning:

     THENCE North 00 degrees 17 minutes East for 41.0

     feet; thence North 89 degrees 38 minutes for 50.0

     feet; thence South 00 degrees 46 minutes East for

     40.6 feet; thence South 89 degrees 14 minutes West

     for 50.8 feet to the point of beginning.

     At the time of expiration of the easement, the parties hereto may agree to renew said easement for an additional five-year term.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
