AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION TO SELL AND CONVEY TO THE ST. PETERS MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH CERTAIN STATE-OWNED REAL PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE CITY OF JACKSON, HINDS COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  The Department of Finance and Administration is hereby authorized to transfer to sell and convey to the St. Peters Missionary Baptist Church certain state-owned real property located in the City of Jackson, Hinds County, Mississippi, specifically described as follows:

     Beginning at a concrete monument 668 feet east and 26 feet south of the northwest corner of the northwest quarter of the northwest quarter of said Section 28; thence east, parallel to the north line of said Section 28 and 26 feet therefrom, 200 feet to an iron pin; thence south, parallel to the west line of said Section 28, and 868 feet distant therefrom, 700 feet to an iron pin; thence west, parallel to the north line of said Section 28, 200 feet to an iron pin; thence north 700 feet to the point of beginning; together with all of the improvements thereon and appurtenances thereunto belonging, Section 28, Township 6 North, Range l East.

     (2)  The real property described in subsection (1) shall be sold for not less than the fair market value as determined by two (2) professional appraisers who shall be selected by the Department of Finance and Administration and shall be certified and licensed by the Mississippi Real Estate Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board.

     (3)  Any funds received by the State of Mississippi from the sale and conveyance of the real property described in subsection (1) shall be deposited into the State General Fund.

     (4)  The State of Mississippi shall retain all mineral rights to the real property sold and conveyed pursuant to this section.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
