AN ACT TO DESIGNATE A CERTAIN PORTION OF THE PASCAGOULA RIVER IN GEORGE AND JACKSON COUNTIES AS ELIGIBLE FOR NOMINATION TO THE STATE SCENIC STREAMS STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM; TO DESIGNATE A CERTAIN PORTION OF BEAR CREEK IN TISHOMINGO COUNTY AS ELIGIBLE FOR NOMINATION TO THE STATE SCENIC STREAMS STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  In accordance with Section 51-4-7, the Pascagoula River from the confluence of the Chickasawhay and Leaf Rivers in George County to its mouth in Jackson County is designated as eligible for nomination to the State Scenic Streams Stewardship Program.

     SECTION 2.  In accordance with Section 51-4-7, a loop of Bear Creek in Tishomingo County from the Mississippi-Alabama state line where it enters Mississippi to the Mississippi-Alabama line where it reenters Alabama is designated as eligible for nomination to the State Scenic Streams Stewardship Program.

     SECTION 3.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
