Senate Bill 2203

AN ACT TO ABOLISH THE COMMON LAW TORT OF ALIENATION OF AFFECTION; TO PROVIDE THAT NO ACTION SHALL LIE THEREON; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The tort of alienation of affection is abolished, and no cause of action shall be thereon at the suit of any party.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2004.
