A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING ERNEST WHITE FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE AND COMMITMENT TO HELPING OTHERS.

     WHEREAS, Ernest White, son of Mr. Fields White and Mrs. Maggie Siphon White, was born in Humphreys County, Mississippi, in 1910; and

     WHEREAS, Mr. White, a devoted member of the Church of Christ Holiness of Wolf Lake, has served 60 years on the Deacon Board and 38 years as the Chairperson; and

     WHEREAS, throughout his life, Ernest White has served his  community by participating in several organizations, including serving as an Alderman for the City of Belzoni, serving as a Board Member for Friends of Children and working with the former Union for Progress Co-op; and

     WHEREAS, lovingly supported in all his endeavors by his lovely wife, Flora, Mr. White is a man who devotes much of his time to helping others and is involved in activities that help improve the community, and he has received numerous awards for his exceptional and selfless volunteer work, including an award for being a volunteer of Vista for the U.S.A. from the President of the United States; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize and commend the humanitarian efforts and contributions of such Mississippians as Mr. Ernest White:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend Ernest White for his many years of committed and dedicated services to his fellowman.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Ernest White and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
