AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARDS OF SUPERVISORS OF MARION, LAMAR, PEARL RIVER, PERRY, JONES, JEFFERSON DAVIS AND COVINGTON COUNTIES TO CONTRIBUTE TO PEARL RIVER VALLEY OPPORTUNITY, INC., AN AMOUNT DETERMINED BY EACH INDIVIDUAL BOARD IN A MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF $150,000.00 TO BE USED AS MATCHING FUNDS IN ORDER THAT PEARL RIVER VALLEY OPPORTUNITY, INC., MAY RECEIVE FUNDS FROM THE STATE OR FEDERAL GOVERNMENT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  The Boards of Supervisors of Marion, Lamar, Pearl River, Perry, Jones, Jefferson Davis and Covington Counties, Mississippi, are authorized and empowered, in their discretion, to contribute to Pearl River Valley Opportunity, Inc., a community action agency, a sum in an amount determined by each individual board provided that the amount does not exceed One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000.00) from each individual board to be used as matching funds in order that Pearl River Valley Opportunity, Inc., may receive funds from the state or federal government.

     (2)  The provisions of this section shall be repealed from and after June 1, 2007.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
