AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 966, LOCAL AND PRIVATE LAWS OF 1999, TO INCREASE THE AMOUNT THAT THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY OF JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI, MAY PAY KEEP JACKSON BEAUTIFUL, INC., FOR ITS SERVICES IN REGARD TO A LITTER PREVENTION PROGRAM; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Chapter 966, Local and Private Laws of 1999, is amended as follows:

     Section 1.  The governing authorities of the City of Jackson, Mississippi, in their discretion, may contract with Keep Jackson Beautiful, Inc., to implement and maintain a program of litter prevention within the municipality and may expend an amount not to exceed Forty Thousand Dollars ($40,000.00) annually from any available source through calendar year 2008.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
