AMENDMENT No. 2 PROPOSED TO

                             Senate Bill NO. 2628

                             By Senator(s) Dawkins


          AMEND by inserting the following after line 87 and renumbering succeeding sections accordingly:


          (10)  The board shall report to the State Board of Medical Licensure any judgment of an amount in excess of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) caused by a participating physician's negligence, error or omission in practice, or his rendering unauthorized professional services.  The report shall contain the name and license number of the physician and shall be sent within thirty (30) calendar days after entry of judgment.

          SECTION *.  The State Medical Board of Licensure shall disclose to an inquiring member of the public information received pursuant to Section 4(10) of this act regarding convictions of, and judgments against, physicians participating in the Medical Malpractice Insurance Availability Plan.  The State Medical Board of Licensure may formulate appropriate disclaimers or explanatory statements to be included with any information released, and may, by regulation, establish categories of information that need not be disclosed to the public because that information is unreliable or not sufficiently related to the licensee's professional practice.  Beginning July 1, 2003, the State Medical Board of Licensure shall develop and operate a website and make the information received pursuant to Section 4(10) of this act available on its website.

          FURTHER, amend the title to conform.
