AMEND by deleting lines 30 and 31 in their entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

"SECTION 1. (1) Prior to October 1, 2003, the Oversight Committee established in Section 5 of this act shall cause to be conducted an assessment of all prekindergarten"

AMEND FURTHER on line 59 by deleting the word "September" and inserting the word "October".

AMEND FURTHER on line 99 by deleting the figure "1", and inserting in lieu thereof the figures "15".

AMEND FURTHER after line 115 by inserting the following new section 5 and renumbering the succeeding section, the new section 5 to read as follows:

SECTION 5. There shall be established an Oversight Committee, which shall oversee the process and conducting of assessments in order to carry out the mandates of this act. The committee shall consist of the following members:

(a) The current members of the Interagency Advisory Committee for Early Childhood Services;

(b) One (1) member from a parochial child care center, to be appointed by the Speaker of the House;

(d) The Chairman or Vice-Chairman of the House Education Committee;

(e) The Chairman or Vice-Chairman of the Senate Universities and Colleges Committee;

(f) The Chairman or Vice-Chairman of the House Universities and Colleges Committee.

AMEND FURTHER the title by deleting line 3 in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following: "OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE ESTABLISHED BY THIS ACT TO CAUSE TO BE CONDUCTED AN ASSESSMENT OF ALL"

AMEND FURTHER the title on line 6 by deleting the words "STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION" and inserting in lieu thereof the words "OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE".

AMEND FURTHER the title on line 10 by deleting the words "THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION" and inserting in lieu thereof the words "CERTAIN AGENCIES".

AMEND FURTHER the title on line 28 by inserting the following language after the semicolon: "TO CREATE AN OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE OVERSEE THE PROCESS AND CONDUCTING OF ASSESSMENTS UNDER THIS ACT;"
