Senate Resolution 28

A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING ROBIN KROHN-DAVID, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE MARITIME AND SEAFOOD INDUSTRY MUSEUM IN BILOXI, MISSISSIPPI, ON THE OCCASION OF THE EXPANSION AND REOPENING OF THE MUSEUM.

     WHEREAS, the Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum in Biloxi, Mississippi, will be unveiling its $2 Million expansion on February 21, 2003; and

     WHEREAS, the continuing success and popularity of this Museum is due in no small part to the efforts of Robin Krohn-David, the Executive Director of the Museum; and

     WHEREAS, Robin has been Executive Director of the Museum for 14 years, and has been a loyal, dedicated and devoted administrator, whose duties include an array of responsibilities; and

     WHEREAS, Robin also has worked to enhance the Museum's annual fundraising events, the annual drawdown and the Billy Creel Wooden Boat Show, as well as market-donated vessels and charters aboard the Museum's schooners; and

     WHEREAS, Robin's untiring efforts to promote the Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum and Biloxi's seafood heritage also bring favorable attention to the overall history of Biloxi and the Mississippi Gulf Coast; and

     WHEREAS, other employees of the Museum are Dr. Val Husley, Curator; Sonja Covacevich, Outreach Program Coordinator; Daliance Ross, Receptionist/Store Manager; Brandon Boudreaux, Schooner Captain; Mary Beth Worrel and Jennifer Mayfield, Receptionists; Jerry Ellis, schooner maintenance; and many part-time schooner captains and mates, many Sea-n-Sail Adventure Camp instructors and counselors; and many docents; and

     WHEREAS, the State of Mississippi applauds the efforts of Robin Krohn-David, as well as the work being done by the entire board and membership of the Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum in Biloxi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Robin Krohn-David, Executive Director of the Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum in Biloxi, Mississippi, on the occasion of the upcoming milestone expansion at the Museum, and we respectfully recognize Robin, the Museum staff and all others who helped make this grand reopening possible, and extend to the Museum the best wishes of the Senate for continued success.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Robin Krohn-David and her family and all Museum staff at reopening ceremonies on February 21, 2003, and be made available to the Sun Herald and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
