Senate Concurrent Resolution 590

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE NEW ALBANY/INGOMAR HIGH SCHOOL "LADY FALCONS" SOFTBALL TEAM FOR THEIR CLASS 1A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP AND OUTSTANDING 2002 SEASON.

     WHEREAS, the Ingomar High School "Lady Falcons" Softball Team from New Albany, Mississippi, culminated their successful 2002 season with the Class 1A State Championship and an outstanding 29-8 record; and

     WHEREAS, this campaign included tournament victories in the Division 2 Championship and the North Half Regional Championship; and

     WHEREAS, the following Lady Falcon team members were named All-State and All-Division for excellent play during the season and tournaments:  Amber Gilliam, Anna Kidd, Jessica Seger and Kelly Williamson; and

     WHEREAS, the team was ably led by Head Coach Chris Kidd, Assistant Coach Jonathan Ashley and Certified Athletic Trainer Mark Porter, who made the team stay focused and play with intensity for the entire season; and

     WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize the accomplishments of this championship team who has brought honor to their school, their community and to the State of Mississippi:   NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the New Albany/Ingomar High School "Lady Falcons" Softball Team and Coach Chris Kidd for their Class 1A State Championship and their outstanding 2002 season, and wish them continued success in their future athletic and academic endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Ingomar Principal, Sammy Bryant, for the team and be made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
