Senate Concurrent Resolution 573

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MISS TARYN FOSHEE UPON BEING NAMED MISS CLINTON 2003.

     WHEREAS, Miss Taryn Foshee, daughter of Jim and Kathleen Foshee, was crowned Miss Clinton 2003 and will compete this summer in the Miss Mississippi Pageant; and

     WHEREAS, Miss Foshee, a Senior at Hillcrest Christian High School, is one of the youngest women to ever win the local title; and

     WHEREAS, Miss Foshee was very active during her high school years and received the following honors and awards:  Senior Class President, Co-Head Cheerleader of the Varsity Cheerleading Squad, All-Star Cheerleader, Member of the National Honor Society; Mu Alpha Theta, Beta Club, ABC Competition, Who's Who Among American High School Students, Honor Council of Hillcrest Christian School, Youth Leadership Jackson, Headmaster's List 9-12th Grade; Ranked 4th in the graduation class; and Highest Academic Awards in Math, Speech and Biology; and

     WHEREAS, in addition to her accomplishments, Miss Foshee serves on the Mayor's Youth Council of Clinton and the Youth Council at Wynndale Baptist Church, where she is a member; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by young, beautiful, talented and intelligent women such as Miss Foshee:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Miss Taryn Foshee upon being named Miss Clinton 2003 and extend our heartiest wishes for success in all her future endeavors.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Miss Foshee and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
