AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARDS OF SUPERVISORS OF COVINGTON, JEFFERSON DAVIS, JONES, LAMAR, MARION AND PEARL RIVER COUNTIES TO CONTRIBUTE FUNDS TO PEARL RIVER VALLEY OPPORTUNITY, INC., TO BE USED AS MATCHING FUNDS IN ORDER THAT PEARL RIVER VALLEY OPPORTUNITY, INC., MAY RECEIVE FUNDS FROM THE STATE OR FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The Boards of Supervisors of Covington, Jefferson Davis, Jones, Lamar, Marion and Pearl River Counties, Mississippi,  in their discretion, may contribute funds to Pearl River Valley Opportunity, Inc., a community action agency, in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00) during the 2003 calendar year, to be used as matching funds in order that Pearl River Valley Opportunity, Inc., may receive funds from the state or federal government.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
