AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARDS OF SUPERVISORS OF COVINGTON, JEFFERSON DAVIS, JONES, LAMAR, MARION AND PEARL RIVER COUNTIES TO CONTRIBUTE ANNUALLY TO PEARL RIVER VALLEY OPPORTUNITY, INC., AN AMOUNT DETERMINED BY EACH INDIVIDUAL BOARD TO BE USED AS MATCHING FUNDS IN ORDER THAT PEARL RIVER VALLEY OPPORTUNITY, INC., MAY RECEIVE FUNDS FROM THE STATE OR FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The Boards of Supervisors of Covington, Jefferson Davis, Jones, Lamar, Marion and Pearl River Counties, Mississippi, are authorized and empowered, in their discretion, to contribute annually to Pearl River Valley Opportunity, Inc., a community action agency, a sum in an amount determined by each individual board to be used as matching funds in order that Pearl River Valley Opportunity, Inc., may receive funds from the state or federal government.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage, and shall stand repealed from and after September 30, 2008.
