AN ACT TO RESTORE THE RIGHT OF SUFFRAGE TO JOSEPH HARVEY OF JEFFERSON DAVIS COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  The right of suffrage is hereby fully and completely restored to Joseph Harvey of Jefferson Davis County, Mississippi, who was disqualified as an elector as a result of his conviction of the crime of robbery in 1994 in Jefferson Davis County, Mississippi, and who was sentenced to serve twelve (12) years in the custody of the Department of Corrections.  He was placed on parole on September 25, 1998, and discharged from parole on October 17, 1999.  Since that time he has conducted himself as a law-abiding and honorable citizen in a good and lawful manner.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
